This role is responsible for the coordination, development, and quality assurance of Work Integrated Learning activities across EIT’s Higher Education programs. A strong focus of the position is industry engagement and partnership development, identifying and securing organisations that can provide internship placements and industry projects for students. You will work closely with students, academic teams, and external partners to ensure WIL experiences are meaningful, compliant, and aligned with academic outcomes while contributing to improved graduate employability.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. WIL Program Management

  • Lead and coordinate WIL activities across all Higher Education programs with an internship or industry project component.

  • Ensure WIL activities align with course learning outcomes, accreditation requirements, and industry standards.

3. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for students, academic staff, Student Services, and external partners regarding WIL activities.

  • Liaise with host organisations to ensure clarity of expectations, supervision arrangements, and assessment requirements.

  • Maintain effective communication channels to support a positive experience for all stakeholders.

  • Identify and capture successful WIL outcomes, including student achievements, internship experiences, and employer partnerships, and work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop student and industry success stories that showcase the impact of EIT’s industry engagement and promote WIL opportunities.

4. Student Support and Placement Coordination

  • Guide students through the WIL process, including preparation, application, and placement stages.

  • Deliver orientation and briefing sessions outlining WIL expectations and requirements.

  • Provide ongoing monitoring and support during placements in collaboration with workplace supervisors and academic staff.

  • Oversee completion of logbooks, assessment tasks, and final evaluations.

5. Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of WIL programs through feedback and performance data.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, workplace health and safety requirements, and institutional policies.

  • Maintain appropriate documentation including placement agreements and risk assessments.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives based on stakeholder feedback and outcomes.

6. Administration and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of student placements, agreements, assessments, and partnership documentation.

  • Track and report key performance indicators including placement numbers, new partnerships secured, and employment outcomes.

  • Prepare quarterly reports for the Board of Studies outlining WIL activity, partnership growth, and program performance.

7. Other Duties

  • Collaborate with the Head of Higher Education and Global Strategy and Dean on strategic WIL initiatives.

  • Contribute to broader institutional industry engagement and employability strategies.

  • Undertake additional duties as required.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
