Higher Education - Learning Support

The Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is seeking a passionate, energetic and hands-on STEM Bootcamp Lead to design, deliver and scale immersive engineering bootcamps for high school students.

This is not a traditional teaching role. You’ll lead practical, high-impact workshops in Perth, coordinating programs nationally, and travelling across Western Australia to connect students to real engineering pathways.

About the Role:

You will be the face of EIT’s school engagement initiative - delivering immersive STEM bootcamps that spark curiosity and inspire students to pursue engineering careers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on STEM/engineering bootcamps at our Perth campus
  • Coordinate and support delivery of bootcamps at our campuses in Melbourne and Brisbane
  • Travel regularly across regional Western Australia to run workshops at schools and community hubs
  • Design and continuously improve engaging, practical learning experiences aligned to real-world engineering
  • Develop structured bootcamp modules, kits, and facilitator guides for scalability
  • Manage end-to-end workshop logistics (equipment, setup, safety, scheduling, travel)
  • Ensure all sessions meet safety, compliance, and risk management standards
  • Represent EIT at school visits, events, expos, career events and outreach initiatives
  • Collaborate with marketing to capture and showcase your journey (video, social content, storytelling)
  • Build strong relationships with schools, teachers, and key stakeholders (eg. Scitech)
  • Track engagement metrics and contribute to program evaluation and improvement
  • Support the development of a clear student pathway from Bootcamps into EIT courses (short courses to degrees)

Who We Are Looking For:

This role is ideal for someone who loves teaching, presenting, and making complex ideas simple and exciting.

You might be:

  • A teacher (or ex-teacher) looking for a more dynamic, hands-on role
  • An engineer with a passion for education, mentoring or outreach
  • An international engineering graduate with post-study work rights
  • A migrant engineer looking to build local experience and make meaningful impact

What You Will Be Working With

  • Hands-on engineering kits (e.g. robotics, electrical, mechanical systems)
  • Practical problem-solving challenges and design activities
  • Basic coding, simulation, or demonstration tools
  • AV and presentation tools for interactive delivery

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • A background in engineering, STEM, or a related field
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, especially with young audiences
  • The ability to simplify complex concepts into engaging, practical experiences
  • A practical, hands-on approach to learning (not just theory)
  • Confidence working independently and travelling regularly
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • A willingness to be on camera and part of storytelling/content
  • Adaptable and able to think on your feet
  • Resilient and solution-oriented in dynamic environments
  • A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively across WA
  • Must have a Working with Children (WWC) card or be willing to obtain one

Why Join EIT?

  • Be part of a globally recognised engineering education provider
  • Play a key role in inspiring the next generation of engineers.
  • Enjoy a highly autonomous, varied role (no two weeks are the same)
  • Travel across WA and engage with diverse communities
  • Help shape a new initiative from the ground up
  • Work across programs spanning professional development to doctorate level

Location & Travel

  • Based in Perth (West Perth campus, with on site parking)
  • Frequent travel across metropolitan and regional Western Australia
  • Coordination with Melbourne and Brisbane campuses
  • Travel may include overnight and multi-day regional visits

What Success Looks Like

  • High student engagement and positive feedback from schools
  • Growth in bootcamp participation across WA and nationally
  • Strong pipeline of students progressing into engineering pathways
  • High-quality, engaging content showcasing the journey
  • Well-structured, scalable bootcamp programs and resources
  • Strong relationships with schools and repeat partnerships

Your First 90 Days

  • Deliver at least one bootcamp at the Perth campus
  • Deliver at least one regional WA delivery trip
  • Create at least two new bootcamp activities
  • Participate in content creation (video/social storytelling)
  • Build relationships with partner schools and stakeholders
